One popular method for treating acne scarring is to laser acne scars away but does it really work? People suffering from scarring know how emotionally crippling it can be to look in the mirror everyday and certainly there are risks associated with laser removal. The last thing we want to do is make our scarring worse. So in this article we are going to list both the pros and the cons for using a laser on acne scars. I will even provide a link to additional information at the bottom of the article.
Now in the interest of full disclosure I did not have this surgery done so what I will be reporting on are the experiences of what other people have gone through. I will say this on your behalf. I congratulate you on taking a big step in reading this article. It clearly shows how bad you want to look better and we will get there together. So lets see what people had to say shall we?
The first gentlemen we will talk about had this surgery about eight months ago and we suggested that it is better to have one or two big blasts than lots of small treatments and that it is very effective for lessening scarring. He strongly suggests choosing a dermatologist rather than cosmetic surgeon.
Now for the cons of his experience he suggests that this procedure is not for the faint hearted. he stated that it is very messy afterwards with blood, gore etc. Furthermore, it takes several days to heal and the aftermath was quite painful.
Why don’t we take a look at another. Again, I do not want to steer you in any way but rather give you the facts directly from the front line.
Another gentlemen from Tennessee said that it absolutely works but warned if you have any doubts about your phsyician than do not do it. He suggests it’s expensive, time consuming, and painful and It has to be done by a REALLY good doctor which makes the procedure really expensive which was a con that he had.
He followed it up by saying the down time for this was a solid 5 days. You will be beet red, hideous, and swollen but by following the instructions exactly you will like the results.
How about about one more review.
Lastly, A woman from Kentucky who had the procedure done said she did see a slight improvement in the skin from her first procedure.
As a con of the surgery she stated that the procedure was much more painful than advertised and that she broke out in zits from the thick Aquafor dressing.

As technology has continued it’s ever increasing march it has had a corresponding effect on all aspects of society its’ effect on the treatment of acne scars is no exception.
Acne can be a terrible emotional and psychology scourge to those suffering from it but when acne finally goes away, many also have to live with the by-product of severe acne and that is the left over scarring. For some, the scarring is worse than the acne because the acne could be treated and would eventually go away but many scars last forever.
Scarring may never go away because acne scars are not on the surface of the skin but their roots are deep down in the skin. For those who decide to invest in skin treatment, acne laser treatment is becoming a more popular and viable solution. On the other hand, it can be a bit expensive but for those suffering from scars if it can help its money well spent.
One of the features that makes treating acne scars using a specialized laser is that results can be seen relatively quickly compared to lotions or ointments that can improve the skin but results are slow. In fact, because the results take such a long time and in many instances are not as effective treating acne scars via laser for some can actually be a less expensive alternative.
Only trained medical health care professionals should administer acne laser treatment so be sure to make sure any clinic you decide to use is fully qualified. The first step in the process of treating acne and acne scarring with lasers is to kill the bacteria that are causing the pimple outbreaks. The next step is to shrink the sebaceous glands, which produce the oil. This helps to ensure that future outbreaks are reduced or even completed stopped in some instances.
In addition to greatly reducing or even preventing acne, acne laser surgery can greatly reduce the appearance of scars. If scarring is bad it will take more than one session to reduce their appearance and it may not be possible to completely eliminate any signs of scarring but for those with light scarring one session can completely remove the scars for some.
Another nice aspect of treating acne with lasers is that there are no known side effects and while being treated there is little or no pain during the sessions which normally take less than an hour to complete.
